Valentine's Day Cocktail Recipe - Hopeless Rumantic
Are you a hopeless romantic? Make it RUMantic this Valentine’s Day. Prepare something different for your loved one. This cocktail drink will surely surprise them and make the day extra special.
This rum cocktail is not that sweet but can be adjusted to
your liking using sparkling water.
Ingredients
1 dash of Vanilla Extract
.75 oz sweetener (Simple Syrup)
1 oz fresh lime juice
2 oz hibiscus tea concentrated
2 oz white rum
1 bottle of sparkling water
1 lime wheel and 5 edible flowers
Method
In a champagne flute or stemmed glass add a handful of ice,
then set aside.
Get a cocktail shaker half-full of ice then combine vanilla,
sweetener, hibiscus tea, lime and rum. Shake until the outside of the shaker is
frosted for approximately 30 seconds.
Put the ice from the glass and strain shaker contents into
the chilled glass. Soften the drink with sparkling water. Garnish with lime and
edible flower.
Additional Tip
Making the hibiscus tea concentrate, use a hibiscus tea bag
or dried hibiscus flowers. In a heat-resistant vessel, steep 1 teabag (or 2-3
grams of dried flowers) in ½ cup of hot water around 200˚. Heat it for 5
minutes then stir and strain. Then you are ready to mix it with the rest of the
ingredients.
